This is a stamp specially dedicated to all of you whiny, Lucas-bashing, purist fanbrats out there.
I'm fucking sick of you people. You all make me ASHAMED to call myself a fan of Star Wars (and Indiana Jones, for that matter).
I think EmSeeSquared said it best:
people who bash Lucas and the prequels, and want the movies to be done THEIR way and not HIS are not "real" fans in my book. they're greedy and selfish. say you write a successful book series that's made millions of dollars. and you come out with a new one that wasn't the way people had been grown accustomed to. and people backlash against you. "oh, you shouldn't have had suchandsuch, you should kill soandso, you used to be good, but now u suck!" it's insulting. a writer should tell a story the way THEY want to tell it, because it's THEIR story, not the audience's. the audience is just who the story is told to.
Couldn't have said it better myself, though I have something I'd like to add: If the audience doesn't like the story that's being told, then they should just not watch the movies and leave it at that.
Say what you want about George Lucas as a director, writer, or whatever, but if you actually wish death upon him because you don't like his work, there's something wrong with you.
Your childish rants about how "LUCAS HATES US PERSONALLY!!" isn't going to do a fucking bit of good. And personally, I don't think you'll ever get what you want, because you've proven time and time again that you'll never be satisfied with anything outside of the Original Trilogy. You'll just keep ranting and making asses out of yourselves.
And that's all I have to say.
